Police registers plaint against 3MPs for insulting nat’l flag in Pak

BHUBANESWAR: Odisha police registered a complaint against BJD MP Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo and two other MPs for insulting the national flag at Islamabad on August 16.

The commissionerate police here registered a case against them at Capital police station on the basis of a complaint filed by Subash Mohapatra, a human rights activist and the Editor-in Chief of Headlines Everyday.

Mohapatra alleged that the Lok Sabha member hurt his sentiment and that of others for remaining silent on the issue while he spoke at the inaugural plenary session of the 1st SAARC Young Parliamentarians Conference on Peace and Harmony for Development.

Besides, he also posted his photographs with wrongly hoisted tricolour, Mohapatra said in his complaint. Mohapatra also named Alok Tiwari (Rajya Sabha) and Devisingh Patel (LS) who were part of the Indian team of the same offense.

Kalikesh tweeted pictures of the wrongly hoisted flag and publicly transmitted wrongly hoisted national flag in a position upside down several times.
